Some Prom pictures

This weekend I got to do some prom pictures. I have known this family forever. The fact that this young lady is graduating tonight makes me feel so old. I remember when she started school. Well congrats to all of you graduating tonight. Here are just a few of the pictures from Saturday. And you can see the rest HERE.

Family portraits on the beach

I know I'm a little late, but the weekend before Mothers day I had the oportunity to shoot some family portraits for Miss. Lisa and her boys. We all had a good time playing in the water, skipping rocks, and hanging out. Here are just a few shots from that day.

Concert

My little girl had a chorus concert last night. I took a lot of images. Later to find out I forgot I was still shooting in raw. I'm glad I was, I just wish I would have remembered while shooting. I may have made some setting changes. They came out pretty good anyway. I sat in the back and used the zoom to get a straight on level instead of an up-the-nose shot. I'll have a gallery of what I have sometime this weekend. ~Later~

Just a thought

Ok so I know this poor little blog has been so neglected, but I'm considering hosting from my site instead of here. I haven't made a decision yet, but would sure appreciate any feed back. You can check it out here. There really isn't much there just yet, but take a look anyway.

Wedding Photographers

Here is a blog I have come across today in my blog surfing. I really like what it has to say. It explains how a wedding photographer is more than just a photographer. And I couldn't have put it any better myself. Be picky in choosing a wedding photographer. If the price seems too high, there is usually a reason for that, they are worth it.

News Flash Friday.

I've got many things going on right now. Many projects in mind as well as up coming appointments. I willl be posting announcments looking for models soon for some projects I've had in mind and just haven't done yet. So keep looking to see if you or anyone you know might be what I am looking for.

To those of you who contacted me about pet portraits, I'm just waiting on warmer weather. Most of these shots will be outside, and I'm a big sissy when it comes to the cold. So don't go thinking I forgot about you. I will be getting in touch with you soon.

As far as the past week, I've had my nephew here. He's 3 months younger than my youngest. That has been fun. If they aren't fighting they are joining forces to terrorize everyone and everything in the house. Here they are getting ready to go fishing in our tank. You can see a few more on MY OTHER BLOG.

Family portraits

A few years ago I was asked to shoot a wedding for a friend of a friend. I'm so glad we found each other. Their wedding was by far my favorite so far. And we became great friends. Yesterday I got to shoot some family portraits for them. We were on the water in the freezing wind, and well worth it. We got some great shots. I'm going to try to keep this to a minimum but there were so many shots that I just loved it's going to be difficult to choose.

Look at how in love they still are...

And look at how she looks at him, made me want to cry.

Don't they look like angels? Can you believe one of them hates having her picture taken? Crazy but true.

And how sweet are these?

And here is everyone...

Posing pets part 1.

This weekend I posted a thread on a local forum looking for pets to model for me to expand my pet gallery. I got quite a few responses. Well today I got to shoot my first set of vounteers. I have already added a few to my web site. I wanted to share a few here too.
Thank you so much Kelly for letting me invade your house and harras your beautiful pets. Your full gallery will be available for viewing tomorrow.
This bearded dragon was too cool. I loved how he puffed up at me.

Then there was this awesome aquarium. The colors were amazing. I had such a hard time choosing which ones to post.

This one was an accident but I love it! I went from shooting in a dim corner to an open window and haden't changed my settings before taking the first shot. I'm glad I didn't. Good to know my absent mindedness is good for something.

And this beautiful dog. I could have sworn he was posing for me half of the time. He didn't need much coaching at all. This looked like a perfect image as a thumbnail, but when I opened it, I realized his tounge was sticking out. It's still cute, I think.
This was another accident. Same concept, hadn't changed settings. It was a test shot anyway, and normally I delete those right after taking them. But again I think it's another perfect accident.

New Blog

Trying to challenge myself I decided to start a new blog. I will be keeping this one, but also posting on the other. The purpose of the other blog is to post a picture a day and that is it. Maybe in the future I will combine the 2 but for now I think I'll keep it seperate. Here it is...enjoy.

2 in one day...WOW.

Just got permission to share from a recent session.
I've done a few Valentines sessions this year. And all of them turned out fantastic. But I have to tell you this is one of my favorite images of the bunch. I think it's the simplicity that makes me love it so much.

Maybe I'll get permission from another soon. We'll see.

Been a while.

I haven't posted in a while. The sittings I've had I have not yet gotten permission to share. And a special project I am working on is not ready for public viewing. So I took this today just to update this here blog. But stay tuned there are exciting things about to happen (if all goes well).

Choo Choo

I went to visit my Dad today and he took us to this really cool place. It was TANS, a bike shop in North Beach. But the really cool part was this time of year there is a huge train set up. And they sell all the things that were the display. My kids got the biggest kick out of the train with the horses peeking out of the windows. There were little things set up like this burning buliding with smoke and everything.
This carnival was too cute. All the things lit up and moved. I liked the ice skating rink too. Plus we were greeted by this HUGE friendly dog. I don't remember his name but he was so sweet and loved attention from everyone, even the kids. Just to give you an idea of the size of this pup (yes I said pup, he's only a year old). Here he is with my 8 yr. old daughter.
You can visit their site at http://www.tanscyclesparts.com/

My lil bro.

This is my not so little brother. He stopped by for a visit and I hadn't played with my lighting for a while, so I got to play. Isn't he a cutie???

We even took a few together. I don't think we have ever done that before.

Updates.

Well my poor computer is fixed.

I finally made a logo decision (you can see it in the header). It wasn't easy but I heard what every one had to say between the comments here, emails and forums. I mixed it all up. And I decided to keep the butterfly but keep it seperate.

Here are a few pictures I've done recently...

This is how I feel about this time of year too.

And a shot from when I went bowling with my brother.

Oops.

For those of you who don't already know, I lost my hard drive last Friday(sniff sniff). It's like loseing an old friend. It has taken almost the whole week to recover pictures and other files. We are almost done. I have some pictures to edit as well as some other things going on. I will be sure to post as soon as I get things back together.

Logo Play

Every year I revamp my logo just a little. But this year while playing with it I came up with a few different designs that I can't decide between. I'm even considering doing away with the butterfly. But just can't come to a decision. So I thought I might leave it up to you. Just leave a comment for a vote Number 1,2 or 3. FYI...I wouldn't keep them those sizes for print. And the pictures the logos are on are not part of the logo, they are just samples.

A beautiful Famiy

I had the pleasure of doing some portraits for some old friends. They are such a beautiful family and look at that gorgeous dog. Between the dog and the boy, it was a very interesting and fun shoot. Their son Mr. A decided he didn't want his picture taken so I bribed him a little and told him if he let me take his picture, I would let him push the button. It worked!! Here is the picture he took. Not bad huh? Little boys love to push the button. He was so sweet when he got a lolly pop for being good, he made sure I got one too.

I recieved this in an email today. And this is how I usually feel after trying to do pictures with my family. I have decided that if my brothers ever want pictures taken, or if anyone wants pictures of them for any reason, they are going to have to hire someone. They take me about as seriously as this cartoon.

Nothing but fun

Last week my Mom and her friend came over to see a few slideshows I had recently put together. And after seeing the trash the dress show they decided they wanted to do something like that. So we decided Saturday was the day. I showed up at Teresa's door with all my equiptment, while I set up they played dress up. These ladies had the energy of children they were so excited. My sister showed up, dressed up and posed for me too. Half way through someone had the genius idea to go out side and jump on the trampoline. It was just a lot of fun. Here is the slidshow for those of you who haven't seen it yet. Enjoy. After everyone changed back into regular cloths my brother took a few shots of me, my Mom and sister. Aren't we silly?!!?

My 2007

I made a slideshow of my 2007. Just because. And I thought I would share. It's made up of images of me, my family, and just a few of my favorite sessions I've done this year. Enjoy...
When you get there, right mouse click and select full screen before playing. And don't blink, you may miss something.

Trash the dress...

is what they call it. I think I prefer the name Dirty Formals. Anyway no real damage this time. But I'm pretty sure we will be doing it again. Isn't she gorgeous!??! Here are just a few.

And this one was just screaming for wings.

And how fun is this?

Out and About

To those of you who live in the area,

I will be taking pictures pretty much when ever I go out. And I will be posting them in my momentshare galleries with the date and sometimes the place. Feel free to check it from time to time to see if I may have taken your picture out somewhere. Or even to see somethings going on in the area. Here is one I took at the park today, not of an unsuspecting "victim" but of my nephew, isn't he the cutest?!!?

Think Pink Photography

Think Pink Photography was founded in October 2007 to support individuals and their families who have been touched by breast cancer. We are a non-profit organization that serves two main purposes - celebrating life and supporting the cause.

Through our photography network, we are helping breast cancer survivors and their supporters to celebrate life with charitable photography sessions.

Through donations and various fundraising efforts, all profits from Think Pink Photography will be donated to The Beverly Family Foundation. As a 3-time breast cancer survivor, Danielle Beverly and her husband Eric joined together to form a foundation dedicated to promoting education, increasing awareness, and providing support and resources for families who have been touched by breast cancer.

As Think Pink Photography grows, so will the opportunities for you to become involved and support this important cause. I encourage you to sign up for our newsletter (on the Think Pink website and Think Pink blog) and tell your friends and family about Think Pink Photography. Awareness is everything and we can't be successful without you.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I encourage you to view our website, make a donation, or hire a photographer that supports Think Pink Photography! If you hire me, mention Think Pink and I will make a personal donation to the organization. www.thinkpinkphotography.org
